    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

I agree. I chose to go used for my BG250 replacement. More bang for the buck and I knew the amp was good because my repair guy had just checked it out completely. It's a BEAST! LOL

When did you get into bass playing and why?

Proof that there IS hope for the future of music!! LOL. You have some very nice influences there. Sounds like you have a lot of natural talent also. Keep rockin'! :-)

When did you get into bass playing and why?

Played guitar for over 15 years but constantly struggled with improving. My brother and I wanted to start a band but we could not find a bass player. So I bought my first bass after borrowing one from a friend for a couple of weeks. That was just over a year ago, September 2014. We played our...

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

Yep! Great people working at GK, no doubt there! When I buy another amp or cabinet it will be a GK.

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

Yeah my repair guy has one also. He has gone thru my GK amp & installed a new updated power transformer. Honestly I know nothing about repairing anything electrical, so he's my go to guy on it & whatever I get down the road. Lol

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

Yep. And the manuals are SOOO helpful too, if you don't have a clue about how to turn the amp on, adjust volume or any of that other complicated stuff. LOL. TC amp is back from the repair shop. Cost me $50 for the repair. We'll see how it does. I also bought a USED GK 800RB and emailed Jason...

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

Wish I could offer you some assistance but I never got a schematic or ANY type of assistance from TC and/or their authorized repair centers. If, at some point, I do get a schematic I'll be happy to share it with you and the other members of the forum here.

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

This is a very real possibility seeing as how we were at practice when the amp bit the dust. Live, I generally run the amp thru the rack conditioner and/or a surge protector. As far as the digital/analogue thing; my amp repair guy said that all the components of the TC attach to the motherboard...

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

A follow up on my BG250. My repair guy says the rest of the amp checks out, so we're replacing the thermistor and I'll either sale the amp or keep it for a practice amp only. When it blows again I'll just trash it. Seems the micro bass heads with digital boards in them aren't really made to be...

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

Most likely a bad bit of news for TCE. I've blacklisted the company already but others may want to take heed because of this. LOL.

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

UGH!! I avoided Behringer like the plague when looking at amps when I bought this one. LOL. I've never owned one of their products but their "word of mouth" reputation proceeds itself. This does explain quite a bit.

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

Yep! that's the exact part that is blown in my amp as well. Thanks big time for the information Treb!! I'll let Sam know that when I drop off my amp to him on Friday. :-)

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

I agree. The toneprint thing is really cool and innovative. I never used it during a gig because you just couldn't "hear" the effect. I'm not sure why this happens in a live setting but the only time I could hear the effects was at lower volumes while practicing. I'm not bashing the amp so much...

    TC Electronics BG250-112 problems

I agree. My purchase of the amp came after buying a TKO Peavey that lasted all of 2 days. Blew a fuse or something the second day I had it and I was playing it one "1" when it died. The BG250 amps have a "overload" circuit, or so they claim, that is supposed to keep the amp from blowing up. Too...

Never heard of Genzler but I'll keep an eye and ear out. Thanks!
