In your opinion do you think this body was black from the factory? It’s either that or a really super old finish. Lacquer checking everywhere. In the upper cavity there is what appears to be some missed wood from the routing job.

Yeah, I remember having a few sets of those with #020 and I remember, just trying a set for fun and I really couldn’t stand them they sounded like 💩 ended up selling them 20 years ago… once I went to flats I couldn’t go back to rounds.

Yeah I’ve noticed the same thing when putting on a new set of LTF’s. Sometimes 1 string stands out from the other 3 and not always the same string. But I’ve also noticed when broken in and played a bit that difference starts to go away and the stings become more evenly matched. That’s just from...
