I’m 53. Started playing bass at 49. I was a lead singer in some rock bands in the 80’s. Learned to strum a Ovation Celebrity and play at some open mics. Had a family and left most of that behind. Now my kids are grown and I had an itch I needed to scratch. Started playing with two older guys that are both much better guitar players than me. So... I bought a bass and wish to God that I had picked one up when I was a teen. Or any time before 49 years of age. I really love it.
