From what I am reading here about MODERN Rics, as much as I hated the '87 model I once owned, I'd at least like to try out a modern iteration. The biggest reason I hated that '87 was its C-shaped neck (and the sticky/glossy paint on the back of it).

You only live once. If you're that obsessed with Rics, and you can afford it, get one. If you end up hating it, as many people do (I'm one of them), you should at least be able to recoup the majority of what you spent on it (I think).

I hate the 'guard and the old bridge-screw holes way more than I (don't) hate the green.

Why would this be locked? I'm genuinely curious as to why this seems to be how it is here. Again, if someone is willing to meet (or come close to meeting) a seller's asking price, pay for the shipping, etc., why are people so hesitant? I'll always look on this side of the border first for...

The reason I ask is because it seems to me that most of you guys in the Lower 48 specify that you will only ship within the Lower 48...possibly to Alaska and/or Hawaii also, but at additional charge. Is it really that painful to ship to Canada? I mean, if someone up here is willing to meet your...

Someone on Vancouver Island has either a 1958 or 1959 Fender Precision for sale at $30, 000 (I assume he's asking in Canadian dollars). Not saying his price isn't fair (I'm not really hip to prices on vintage stuff), assuming it's the Real McCoy. But I don't know a lot of people who have that...
