    String...joy?

I’m good with what folks think about me. I know what I said and in the spirit it was intended, but I don’t disagree with them. I’ve been in sales and dealt with customer service from both sides, but the default position of “it’s probably you” is not the place to start from in regards to trouble...

It was dead everywhere, but the example I recorded was of the open strings.

    Nice but Small Audio Interface

Way off topic, but check out 32bit float recording. It's like the dark arts for my old school gain staging brain.

    Nice but Small Audio Interface

I'm going to jump in and suggest the MOTU M2. The DAC is the same chip you'll find in their flagship interfaces and in the rack mount UA Apollo interfaces. The headphone imaging is stellar, the mic preamps sound great without a lot of crosstalk at louder volumes, and it's class compliant with...

    Fair point, I don’t know.

    String...joy?

Totally. When I was in sales I would bend over backwards for the customer, but never forward. There’s a line absolutely, but I sent an audio file of the strings being played open to avoid fret noise, finger noise, any sort of fret out at all along with a quick message saying “A string was dead...

    String...joy?

In the twenty years I’ve used DR I had one string that wouldn’t intonate. Called them and they sent a whole new pack. Put the new one on and no issue. No idea what could have caused it, but they fixed it. Six years later never had that issue again.

It’s interesting that there are people saying that they’ve had “dead strings” from them, yet the first thing in their email was “never heard of that before”. It seems to me that the truth was stretched and they got defensive when I called their response into question.

It wasn’t a “don’t you know who I am?” situation because I’m not even a “has been”, I’m a “never was”. Haha. I definitely didn’t state I knew everything, but did let them know my experience level.

    String...joy?

After reading my email again a few times I’m actually pretty fair in it. He asked about set-ups I told him about my setup and who built the bass. He made a remark about experience and I told him my experience and rereading it, it’s direct, but not rude and definitely not as snarky as I felt at...

    String...joy?

I’m going to say that everyone has bad days and that this person in particular was going through it that day. I heard back from the owner/founder Scott and they said that it was extremely out of character for the person, money was refunded, and that’s that. However, based on this experience I...

    String...joy?

I did tech work for a guitar shop and there was a guitar manufacturer that had a consistent issue with the G string breaking on their acoustic guitars. The strings that they were using were from a very well known string company and I contacted the string company letting them know of the issue...

    String...joy?

Hard to tell in a forum and over email/text, but the little “food scene” I wrote out is me poking fun at the situation not trying to insult anyone.
