i've actually thought about doing that. The BTB headstock is pretty beefy, so i'm sure it can be supported. Would it add a lot of extra tension? I doubt they'd make a 1/2-step one for the rare occasion i tune the high C string to B, right? It's good advice, to know how to tweak your own...

do you normally make any adjustments to your bass when you detune like that? And if so, how? I've got a 6-string that i tune to ADADGC sometimes, and i can't seem to nail a good low-end sound; i get a lot of clunk, and kind of a thin tone.
