Personally, I bought a used MIJ JB62 for 650$, got it de-fretted by a pro for 200$, and upgraded the ceramic puppers to Lollar single coils. Looks and sounds classy(c).

My modded MIJ Fender JB62 with CTS pots, Lollar single coils and Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners. The fingerboard was treated with tung oil as an attempt to make the wood more resilient to string damage.

Thanks, but I bought it with this bridge on it - don't even have the original. Also, I've discovered that its PUs have cloth-covered wires so I'm pretty sure the puppers aren't original either. Not complaining, don't get me wrong, it's a great JB.

Bought this Tokai Jazz Sound as a backup in case my fretless JB62 gets ill or something. :D I've been told it's from late 1985 or early '86. Really like it.
