Went with your suggestion. Instrument arrived today, and I’ve had less than 20 minutes of actual playing. First impressions: A) The pawlonia body works. Although this thing is heavy, it is not outrageously so. I’ve had one 4 string bass heavier than that. B) frets are decent in the bass neck...

This is interesting. I abhor the two tone sunburst in this particular bass. I wonder what is the finish: poly? Nitro? …and how difficult would it be to repaint it without me having a proper workshop, or a dust-free garage.

I did *not* actually say that. I said that tapping would be one of the reasons to want such a weird instrument.

I don’t actually tap. It was a hypothetical scenario in which a DBl neck instrument could be of use.
