    Schecter Hellcat VI

Found a 1st generation lefty. I love the meaty mini humbuckers now that I got some flats on it. I had to drill out the low E hole to get the LaBella flats to work but boy now this thing thunders. Plus when I pop the tone knob and flip the pickup switch and step on the EP Booster pedal I can...

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

It's a lefty. I figure I'll take a month or so to sort things out and will let you know then.

The Official Short Scale Bass Club -- Part 4

I just received an SX short P bass with the old headstock in your basic sunburst with white pickguard. I'm a lefty so options are fairly limited. I have it at a friend's who is setting it up since that's what he does. Gonna slap some flats on it and shave the fret edges along with a general...

The Official Medium Scale Bass Club

Here's a photo of my 32" left handed 1989 Fender MIJ P Bass. I had to hunt far and wide to find this one. I took a chance and emailed a left handed player who collects guitars (and plays out in a band all the time) based on the photos on his website of the 20-30 incredible lefty Fenders he...

Bronco 40 through a Cab Question

I have searched on here and other sites and have yet to find a satisfactory answer to a question I have. I bought the Fender Bronco 40 for ease of use around the home and for band practice (2 acoustics through small amps and un-miked drums so it works fine). I love the diversity the amp...

What can a Fender do that my SX can't

As an analogy, my wife feels that it is a waste of money for me to have expensive golf clubs instead of cheaper knockoff ones. For the record I own a Fender P and an SX Jazz. Both medium scale. I like them both. I prefer the Fender but that's because it's a P and not a J.

The Official Medium Scale Bass Club

I have a 1980s Fender P bass 32" scale LEFTY that I just purchased. These are tough to find and the only ones I've seen on ebay had been treated fairly rough. This one is in very good shape. It is the vintage white body that has yellowed very nicely over time. The seller had replaced the...

Anyone have experience with Dave's Guitar Shop in Wisconsin?

They are the greatest people to deal with. They come down off the M.A.P. by 12-20% if you just ask them. As a lefty I marvel at their inventory as it's not just your standard garbage most places have for us. After the first time I went there I told my buddy that now I know how fishing/hunting...

Essex Bass Club - Part 14

Got my SX lefty medium scale bass yesterday. Here are my observations and opinions. The bass is very, very good for the low price. Very good. I didn't have to adjust the truss rod or the action as I didn't have any noise and the strings were at the height I prefer, which really surprised me...

Essex Bass Club - Part 14

I am taking the plunge and joining the club. I am a lefty and a few weeks ago I bought an old Aria Pro Cardinal CSB450, which is a 32" scale and I love it. I am finding the 32" scale length to be a happy medium between my 34" Fender MIM Jazz bass and my 30" Epi Viola (righty I had set-up for a...

Lefty FGN Custom Shop P Style

That is the most beautiful left handed P bass I have ever seen. I presume it's 34" scale. Is the neck more akin to a Fender P or a J bass?
