    Squier Contemporary Active Jazz 5 preamp swap?

    Hi, have you managed to solve the problem of the additional red wire (4.5V)? I changed the original preamplifier to the Gregory Preamp, connecting only the white and black wires. The signal is very weak, so I assume that power is actually needed.
