Call me a heathen, but I loved my Spirit. Sweet find!! Call me a heretic, but I thoroughly enjoyed my Spirit. I didn't want to sell it, but the Mrs. is pretty adamant that I keep the total number of instruments low (at least for now while we have a smaller house). It never failed to turn...

Bought a Subway 15, and still feel like the bottom end is lacking

I'm just lurking on my own thread, enjoying all the redirects, hard left turns, and the occasional on-topic post 🤣 I still have the 1x15 Subway here. My flat pack for my W15GTi has been CNC'ed. I just need to get over to my buddy's shop to pick it up (and that's a LONG drive into DFW traffic...

Bought a Subway 15, and still feel like the bottom end is lacking

I address your first question in the very next paragraph of the post you quoted: Yes, I realize it needs to be balanced, and I want it to be balanced. I'm not trying to fill the whole room with bass like a chud with their car stereo blaring a block away. I'm just trying to achieve the overall...

    steinberger bass body dimensions

You are correct. I figured the overall dimensions would suffice for the sake of a rough draft. OP will have to hash out some odds and ends anyway before nailing down the scale length. I'm kinda hoping he goes for a medium scale just for the sake of seeing this bad boy get even smaller.

XT-25 here, if that counts for anything.

The higher end E kits are getting pretty good these days, and for what tradeoff there is, being able to change the kit on the fly is worth it IMO.

PS, today is new bass day. Yamaha BB735A in flat black.

Bought a Subway 15, and still feel like the bottom end is lacking

My background is relatively similar. I’ve played on a few so-so combos starting back when I first picked up bass around 2002. First was a Fender Bassman 100 1x15, then later a Peavey TKO115. In ‘18 I went ampless since the group I was with had a decent FOH (JBL PRX412s and an EV 18” sub I...

Bought a Subway 15, and still feel like the bottom end is lacking

My usual consistent gig has the RCF 9019-ASs. The group I'll be doing some additional gigs with over the summer has the Behringer. They have subs, if you can call them that. (Do 12s count?) Yeah that's basically the gist of it. Sorry for the confusion fellas!

My drummer is to #%^*][+ LOUD!

Man. I feel you. I dealt with a similar situation about ten years back where the band was in wedges and the drummer was the only acoustic instrument, and he used to beat that thing like it was a step son from his fourth marriage. You guys ought to be able to talk. I talk to my drummer 10x...

How well do other band members need to hear you?

I primarily play with one group (6-7 instruments and 4-5 vocalists) and we all use IEMs. Unless something is going horribly wrong mid-set, I prefer to hear a little of everyone, with an emphasis on the drummer and the click if it’s in use. A few times things have gone awry and I’ll snap up a...

The Praise and Worship Band Bassists Club

In the late 2010s I was playing at a church that had no problem being vocal and outward in their worship. Not speaking in tongues or slithering down the aisle, but they were laid back and on fire, shouting Hallelujah etc. Anyway, we were playing Revelation Song one Sunday and right as we...

Well put. I'm not shooting for a bloated sound, but I do like having those bottom frequencies represented in a balanced manner.
