It has been a long time since I've showed up here. Sharing a WD800 + Subway115 appreciation video. The sound recorded was straight from the WD800 DI out.

Searching for the most grindy Mesa Boogie SS amp and cab combination

I missed the quotes on the "-15dB" part, because it looks like what the majority of the amps do when them sucks all of the tone.. Sorry!

Searching for the most grindy Mesa Boogie SS amp and cab combination

Glad that my posts were useful! I am aware and using the active/passive toggle trick depending on the bass that I am using. I never was a fan of these ""-15db pads"" in general, but in the WD-800 case it is really magical how it does not suck nothing from the tone. I am loving how many features...

Searching for the most grindy Mesa Boogie SS amp and cab combination

The M-Pulse 600 and the WD-800 definitely sound in the the same ballpark from what I've tested. I love the sound of the MP600 and his compressor, but I think I like more the more simpler EQ on the WD-800 and the newer features as the HPF and the Damp control. When my M-pulse returns from the...

Someone here mixed Subway cabs with other Mesas (Diesels/PH) or other brand cabinets? Since obtaining other Subway cab here in Brazil is almost impossible as we do not have Mesa official resselers here, I am wondering how other cabinets get along with a SW 115.

No, I was using with my KZ ZEX Pro headphones to study and fool around with some pedals. I expected that the sound will not be the same, but I noticed exactly what agedhorse said about, mainly the high extension. The sound was great, but more brighter and less deeper IMO.

Yes, I did noticed it too! And it reacts to the output tube emulation system also. But I've found the emulation quite different than my SW115.

Is there any way to turn off or change the cab simulation of the headphone out in the WD800? Does anyone knows in which cab is based?

Searching for the most grindy Mesa Boogie SS amp and cab combination

My fave settings so far (adjusting the gain according to each bass, my L2k clips hard into this gain level - I am a main pick player). I am reaching a SVTish scoop with much definition and plenty of master volume headroom and a nice grit in the pre! I've tested the output tube emulation in the...

Searching for the most grindy Mesa Boogie SS amp and cab combination

Yes, my favorite tones were with the OD led blinking.. I have reviewed the manual (I am a manual eater hahaha) and I am aware of the output tube emulation system... Later I will push to see how it comes! Not comparing volumes now, but the WD800 punches into the stomach at least as the MP 600...

Doing some tests... The breakup point of the WD-800 seems to be the same of the M600. Did not played much or in higher volumes, but it is a very nice amp! The SW115 has a HUGE low end too!

SICK tone! This is the "grindy" texture to me! The riff that Rex plays in the solo of Floods from Pantera (3:50) is also a good example to me. Oh no, another SVT user.... Obviously the Haz Lab has much to contribute to this result. I have a NS2 and other Spector basses and can achieve...

Searching for the most grindy Mesa Boogie SS amp and cab combination

Interesting.. A combination of an AD200 + ODB115 will be more expensive thant the WD800+SW115 in here, but it seems a powerful rig. I had an Orange Bass Terror in the Past (that I've sold to help to fund a Bass Prodigy) and it was a awesome amp. I dig the simpler control panel.
