Yes. I passed them around my basses, loved the expressiveness and sound but found them too flexible (floppy) for all but the fretless. For some reason, on the fretless, I find it much easier to use appropriately light touch and also to use all the expressiveness on offer. High recommendation.

Agreed. I have them on one of my basses specifically as a "TI but less floppy" option.

As another converted cellist, I'm right there with you. The expressiveness is great, and familiar, especially on my fretless.

Feel free to take the DTFs off, carefully, and save them for the next time you want a change. They are good for many more years.

I jammed on one of these once, loaned by a friend who got it as a novelty and doesn't play it. I can see why. It's goofy and fun, but the notes are so close together and the tone so thumpy, I found it very difficult to be musical.

Rereading, I see that much of the discussion of electronics is from within the last year. And that there is a range of opinions, as should be expected. I'm still curious if there has been much evolution over the years of manufacture.

(I apologize if this has been covered, I have read the thread but may have missed things.) Has Ibanez made any significant changes to the electronics over the years? I ask partly because I tried a current new one today (SRF700), and didn't observe any of the deficiencies in the Barts or piezo...
