    Thoughts on Roadworn Fenders

Yep a friend loaned me a avri j for 2 days. It's a nice bass but the rw was better. Also I tried a used custom shop vintage in the store for about an hour and can't really see an advantage there, especially price wise. That sounds great. I used roto flats what are you using? I will be...

    Thoughts on Roadworn Fenders

I can understand your thinking. I never would have considered one either before I read about the rw posts here on talkbass. But I have to say after trying one out and the classic 60 nitro for the last couple of weeks I can't think of a better vintage spec bass that's currently available. It...

    Thoughts on Roadworn Fenders

Well after having played the rw jazz and the c60's jazz in nitro back to back non stop for the last 2 plus weeks I have decided to keep the rw. I just wouldn't sleep at nite knowing I let the rw slip through my very sore fingers..lol I don't really care for the finish but it just doesn't matter...

Classic Series Lacquer vs. Road Worn

I have both now and the only difference between the 2 of them besides the relic part is the rw is a lot lighter and I've been told that is because the wood was kiln-dried. The wt are 8#'s 6 oz to 9#'s 1oz. Also they don't sound the same. They both have a very vintage tone but different. I'm torn...

    Thoughts on Roadworn Fenders

Well I have the classic 60 nitro set up really nice now. The rw is the better player. I favor the tone of the classic a bit more though. I think it's great gc and sam ash allows 30 days to decide if you want to keep the instruments. I even pondered the ideal of taken the neck off the rw and...

    Thoughts on Roadworn Fenders

Well I'm torn. I really want the classic 60 nitro to play as well as the rw because I love the finish but so far I can't say it does. I'm going to take it to GC to have someone better then me set it up. I love the tone of both of them and they both sound like a vintage j. I think the rw...

    Thoughts on Roadworn Fenders

Well after reading this thread and the others I went out last week and ordered a rw j and the new classic 60's j in nitro. I have to say the rw plays phenomenal. I don't care for the finish though but it's the best Fender bass I have ever played. The set up out of the box was perfect. The cs...

Classic Series Lacquer vs. Road Worn

Well thanks to all the people here who take the time to post, I went out last week and purchased a rw j bass and a classic 60 j in nitro. I figured I would a/b them against a original 64 j bass I have and keep the one that works the best for me. So far I have a couple hours on the rw and it is...
