This Tiny Pedalboard Replaced My Massive Touring Rig - Janek Gwizdala

3 octave down effects, HX Stomp as 2 octave/harmony effects... No Drive? No modulation? It's a bold board and perfect for Janek. I always love his videos and breakdowns, learning how he does things helps me learn what I do and don't want to do.

How do you use your H9

I basically use it as a PitchFactor. Quadravox is my favorite. Build a 4 voice major chord, assign expression to move from 8 to 7 So heel down is a 7th chord and toe down is a major chord. Harmodulator is cool to the get pitch bends controlled by your dynamics. Ringmod to go BBRRRRZRRXRxzzz...

    Line 6 HX Stomp

Check out this FB Group: Dr. Tone's Helix Bass Lab He has charts of amp settings that are close to flat. These make a great starting point and you can tweek them to taste. There is a wealth of other HX info as well.

What's coming and going XVIII: (We Don't Need) Rehab

Gone: SA Reflex Expression, Meris Ottobit Times are tough so a lot of things are going to end up on the chopping block. Sad to see the Reflex and Ottobit go but it wasn't on a board and yielded the most immediate cash.

I’m done with new effects, and I feel sad

I went through the same thing. In 2020 I bought an HX Stomp and an HX Effects and those were it for years. I started playing solo acoustic shows in 2024 and picked up a BeatBuddy and a Boss looper. Other than that the HX line and my existing pedals cover everything I could .

Corporate / Function / Wedding Band Pedalboards

I was using this as my bass/keys/acoustic rig for 4 years. I finally stripped it down and just use the HX Stomp and stereo DI for running keys left and bass right. I migrated most of the pedals over to a smaller acoustic board.

New Pedal: Behringer BM-15M MURF Box

2 pages and almost nobody is talking about the actual pedal. Gotta love Talkbass. I was floored whenever Line6 made their copy of it Ashville Pattern. It sounds awesome and if I ever get back into collecting hardware pedals I'd absolutely pick this up over an original Moog because of its...

Synthy analog bass pedals that are designed to work together

C4 has it built in. HXFX, HXStomp, or H9 are what I use now. The harmony options of using other intervals like 10ths is cool too. I've never used a Quint Machine, but it looks very cool and POGish.

Synthy analog bass pedals that are designed to work together

Ah I stand corrected. I shouldn't have written that from memory. That is the exact post I was referring to, thanks!

Synthy analog bass pedals that are designed to work together

One thing I didn't see mentioned is using a digital pitch shifter to add +5th or +12th. I use the +12th if its after an octaver to avoid mud. Putting it before dirt sounds dirtier, between dirt and filter sounds synthier. After filter makes it sound like 2 separate filter sweeps from 2 synths...

    Bitcrusher and stutter effect

HX Stomp can pull of effects like this. I've used Trem or Pattern Trem, set to a momentary switch and expression pedal set to change the speed. Throw in some Asheville Pattern, Particle Verb, or Tesselator. I never got along with the Glitch delay, but Glitch Looper is fun.

Which multifx should I get to round out my board? (Live and recording duties)

I get what you're saying, the H9 octave is pretty massive sounding though. I use my H9 basically as a pitchfactor, the Learn function of the aux pedal to change the key of the harmonizer is the primary reason I keep it. If I got rid of the H9 and only used the HX I'd have to make 12 different...

Which multifx should I get to round out my board? (Live and recording duties)

I have an HX Stomp, HX Effects, and H9 and use all 3 on my board. Based on your situation, I'd go with the HX Stomp. I prefer the interface and it is still receiving regular updates. One piece of advice for any multi-effect you choose is to add an expression pedal to really unlock...

    OC2 - pitch not clear

I use this approach with my SA C4. I took one of the many OC2 settings you find on the neuro cloud and beefed it up. I add a -1oct Sine and a +5th Monophonic voice. I use the filter and volume on the 5th to make it sound like a harmonic and part of the other voices rather than independent...
