    What year did you start playing bass?

    in 1963 when I was 15. my friends & I were getting a band together & everyone but me already had & played an instrument... they looked at me & said "guess you're the bass player" and that's how it began. I played piano & a little guitar, but I didn't have a B-3 and wasn't that good on guitar

    That one random song your cover band does that nobody else does.

    Maxwell's Silver Hammer. at the time we had 2 keyboard players, guitar, bass, & drums. 1st time the crowd was stunned.... after that it was always requested.

    musical advice to your younger self

    I'm 71... started bass at 14.... get a collection of every style of music (yes, even big band stuff) and sit down every day and practice. also, learn to read music... not just tabs

    1965 Fender Jazz ... I've owned it 20 years... It was refinished years before that...

    my best find was a made in China Fender Squier Classic Vibe Jazz Bass.... unbelievably great playing bass.....
