I bought all new monster cables when I purchased the head. How would a short in a cable turn off the green on light and fan and still leave a signal?

I am only hooking up the SVT410HLF @ 4 ohms. Any other suggestions? I love the sound and power of this amp. I am thinking I will return it for another one at GC. If it does it again I will go with a different head but I am willing to give it another 30 day try.

I bought my SVT Pro 7 last weekend. I am very happy with the tone and the volume it provides for but the thing cuts out when I am playing (at any volume level). After reading some of the posts on here I am going to try and mess with the compressor. I have been using very little to no compressor...
