    Yes, on "Shake Your Rump" obviously the Rose Royce tune is being cut up on a turntable, I thought that bit went without saying (There are other samples from the Car Wash soundtrack used on "Shake Your Rump" as well). But yeah, I'd vote for either a Minimoog, or maybe an ARP 2600.

    That pedal IS a synthesizer, right? It has oscillators, so if you're just using the bass as a sort of voltage control for the VCOs built into the pedal (synth) then that makes sense about the 10 seconds of full volume sustain.     So, that sound is obviously a synthesizer. I would hope a bass player can hear that from a mile away. No combination of pedals / bass guitar is going to get this sound. (It's amazing how hard it seems for bass players to "think outside the bass"). This was almost certainly a Minimoog (and Im...
