The $399 Joe Dart Bass by SBMM

I've received mine as well. I am pleasantly surprised by the craftmanship, this being my first Sterling and only owning EBMM's. Bass sounds and feels killer!

Fender 5 String - Precision or Jazz?

Hello! Based on your comment above, it seems that a Fender American Professional II Precision Bass V may potentially not have ideal pickup placement? Do you have any specific technical detail to share around whether the VMOD II pickups for a 5 string would take away from or sound different...

Joe Dart II - Question and community challenge

The Caprice looks extremely nice. However, I have never liked the PJ Tones. I would however be interested in Cutlass Bass at some point. The two tones I am missing is a pure P and Pure J. Any reason why you did not mention that American Professional II as an interest? Pertaining to the Vintage...

Joe Dart II - Question and community challenge

Thank you for this. I am definitely open to a Fender JB, and am curious about G&L's too. Do you mind sharing the type of JB you have and enjoy? Thanks for the relevant response around tone :)

Joe Dart II - Question and community challenge

That is exactly the connect for me here. I am aware the tone is not the typical JB tone. Although, the tone just calls to me. I am curious as to if the tone will not generally work? Is it so individual as to not fitting in with it's JB cousins? Lobster's review is excellent as well as one...

Joe Dart II - Question and community challenge

I prefer the tone of the Joe Dart II over the Fender Jazz Basses I have played and do not mind the lack of tone control. In store / in person, I have played a Player and and an American Professional II. I also prefer the way EBMM basses feel in comparison to the Fender basses I've played...

Joe Dart II - Question and community challenge

Hi all! I've been interested in the EBMM Joe Dart II. Every thread I read contains negative responses that are not overly helpful to my decision making process. Me: I am interested in adding a Jazz Bass style bass to my collection. My favorite Basses are Ernie Ball Music Man's, due to MM's...

These just seem like they would be excellent instruments!

JMJ Mustang Build Quality? Neck feel compared to Modern Ernie Ball's?

Just out of curiosity, do you have any experience with G&L's? If so, what is your take on G&L craftsmanship?

JMJ Mustang Build Quality? Neck feel compared to Modern Ernie Ball's?

Thank you for the advice to look into a Sandberg Lionel. I will do that :)

JMJ Mustang Build Quality? Neck feel compared to Modern Ernie Ball's?

Thank you! I would love to find a Cutlass! I actually have the DarkRay 5, same build as a Special with the DarkGlass Preamp and 2band EQ over 3 Band. The newer EBMM models have spoiled me! I have never felt anything like them. I have two things to solve in my Bass arsenal at this point in...

JMJ Mustang Build Quality? Neck feel compared to Modern Ernie Ball's?

Hi! There are no JMJ's available in my area. I have been playing a Stingray Special and an Old Smoothie, both are incredibly well built and the necks feel amazing. Can anyone compare the high quality feel of the StingRay's with a JMJ? Thanks!

Should I sell my Fender JP-90 to buy an American Professional II Precision?

Update to this thread: Probably going to offload most of my gear and look into a G&L CLF Research L-2500 Series 750 :). Thank you to everyone who provided advice and feedback!

Should I sell my Fender JP-90 to buy an American Professional II Precision?

From my experience, I can absolutely tell the difference between a high quality instrument. I truly enjoy playing my StingRay's and am always taken back by the craftsmanship. However, I don't know P's. Someone here does :)
