If your wanting to go for oldschool thrash I used to play a Westone Thunder 1 in 81 82ish, simple but I got a Brutal sound just through a Marshall Amp Double Cab Stack set up, no peddles, its was Banging, Was in afew Hardcore bands back in the day, try get one if you can find one, good luck mate.
