I am sure you are right.....but In my case with similar lower level jbl & ev passive cabinets, the superior 15" was obvious. The only negative is the plastic ev cabinet which has some unwanted tones, but overall it's a no-brainer for my purposes....thank everyone here for their help!

Thanks...As a practical matter, the 15" speaker is dramatically better for bass at equal volumes. My 12" and 15" cabinets were rated similarly & I'm VERY glad I switched...

Yes, if you do a solo like me, there is no sound man. So if the monitor is identical to the main, I can hear exactly what patrons hear. I'm never too loud ,& always get good feedback from club owner, etc. I do fudge a little on the monitor bass, cause I like a tiny bit more bass....but no one...

I'm a keyboardist solo...found out the exact same thing. I had two JBL 12" cabs which I used for everything....main, monitor, etc. Inc touch bass....they worked but I could not get a correct touch bass sound no matter what. The minute I switched to two ZLX-15 speakers everything was near...

I have learned that the 12s will be fine for everything except bass guitar or touch bass. Only a 15 will get the right sound, unless you have subs.

Thank you....will check it out. I realize that if I used heavy wood quality mains I would not have the noise issues as I never did with good equipment. At age 73, I no longer schlep those things around any more! So we adapt!

I don't know what a 40 HPF is!..please let me know...but I am aware that my left hand bass is very demanding on speakers....I try to limit its volume & I almost never boost the bass...i generally play the eq flat..also volumes in restaurants are mild to moderate. These 15s are dramatically...
