    Dimarzio Split-P Buzz/Noise...

Thanks very much for the info and suggestions. I appreciate it and I'll definitely check the bridge ground. Also, the DP127 looks great in your bass!

Thank you kindly. I suspect I'll like the vibe of the pickup if/when I figure out the noise!

    Dimarzio Split-P Buzz/Noise...

Hello, all. Thanks in advance for any insight on this challenge. This P-bass came with a Dimarzio Split-P in it and it's noisier than I would have expected, especially when I roll up the tone pot. I took a couple of pictures of what's going on in there for anyone willing to take a peek. Right...

    "road worn" instruments

I'm fortunate to have a few instruments, some that show loads of wear ('57 Musicmaster, 60s Yamaha FG-75, mid-80s Strat). My assumption is that they got the way they are through use, so I often find myself wondering what stages they played, what bands they were in, etc. So maybe it's the mystery...

I think about 1 1/4" inches. Not much further than the original. That was a 1 1/4" inch screw, I believe.

I switched one tuner and made the extension simultaneously. The net result is great balance, but I don't know for certain how much is attributable to each mod...

    NBD: Ultralight P

This build is from our own MasterBass! I don't know what the body wood is; it feels quite light. The sound is definitely P--I think the P/U sounds a bit hotter than a 70s USA P I had some years ago. The thump is there for sure.

Very cool. Congrats on the addition!

You bet. Drilled for a longer, sturdy screw and added a few nuts. I've seen people use a couple (or even three) strap buttons together, but the nuts seemed simple enough to me:

It's very comfortable. A little under six by itself on the bathroom scale, a little over seven in weight differential when I held it/weighed myself without it. Not the most scientific measurement, but it sure is easy on the shoulder!

Yes, it is. Thanks for asking. It was on my golden's collar for fourteen years.
