Influences and Teachers
Chris Squire was my first influence but my biggest inspiration would have to be my son Alexander Hilton Smith. An exceptional virtuoso on guitar. At age 13 he could play like Vinnie Moore or Yngwie Malmsteen. By age 15 1/2 he was diagnosed with Leukemia and Valley Fever. He passed away on August 12, 2012 at 1:37 pm just 6 1/2 weeks from his 16th birthday. He was my son and my best friend. I love you Alex and I miss you so much.
