Pickup replacement is an option. The Bridge Pickup doesn't really add anything for me. It's so close to the Bridge that it sounds too honky to my ears by itself and blending both pickups just right takes a little finesse. Thanks for the reply!

For my current basses (a Squier Mustang and Gretsch CVT), I'm not worried. Already drilled a tiny hole through the headstock of the Squier putting on lightweight tuners. Oops!😎

Update: So apparently, the saddle has to be set just right, or it won't make complete contact with the pickup, resulting in low or no intonation. I actually had the saddle in backwards after changing strings the first time. But even after I corrected this, I was still not getting any amplified...

Right? I don't much like the original strings anyway but am having a helluva time finding any strings that will work. Another TB member recommended Aquila Spiral flats that I ordered but haven't put them on yet. They better work for $60!! And last forever!!
