    Gretsch CVT Bass Pickup Height

Pickup replacement is an option. The Bridge Pickup doesn't really add anything for me. It's so close to the Bridge that it sounds too honky to my ears by itself and blending both pickups just right takes a little finesse. Thanks for the reply!

    that first ding

For my current basses (a Squier Mustang and Gretsch CVT), I'm not worried. Already drilled a tiny hole through the headstock of the Squier putting on lightweight tuners. Oops!😎

    Gretsch CVT Bass Pickup Height

I have a Gretsch CVT bass that has a Humbucking neck pickup and a Single Coil bridge pickup. Each has their own volume knob. Love the bass but lately have been chasing down the tone I really like. I've adjusted the pick up height several times and finally landed on: (Pushing down on last fret)...

    NGD - Gretsch CVT

Glad to see another CVT here! Got one earlier this year also and love it! I'm a guitar player transitioning to bass last year. Started out with a Squier Mustang Vintage Vibe and the short scale was perfect for starting out on bass. I had a medium scale acoustic/electric bass too, the 32" scale...

Can't believe nobody is talking about this! Or maybe it's me... (Fender Fullerton bass ukulele content...)

Thanks for tip on the LaBella strings! I have LaBellas on my regular electric bass and love them. In your photo I see a Bluetooth speaker by your uke bass. Do you play through it and if so how is the tone and volume? Right now I'm lugging a 15 watt Hartke amp to our guitar circle and would love...

Can't believe nobody is talking about this! Or maybe it's me... (Fender Fullerton bass ukulele content...)

Update: So apparently, the saddle has to be set just right, or it won't make complete contact with the pickup, resulting in low or no intonation. I actually had the saddle in backwards after changing strings the first time. But even after I corrected this, I was still not getting any amplified...

    Fender Uke bass strings?

Right? I don't much like the original strings anyway but am having a helluva time finding any strings that will work. Another TB member recommended Aquila Spiral flats that I ordered but haven't put them on yet. They better work for $60!! And last forever!!

Katana Mini X is it loud enough for a guitar circle jam?

After researching more info, I think I'll stick with the setup I have now. None of the battery powered amps I've seen offer enough volume for my needs. Much appreciated!

Katana Mini X is it loud enough for a guitar circle jam?

Wondering if anyone has experience using the Katana Mini X with an electric bass? I play in a guitar circle with up to 8 or 10 people. Because I also play guitar, I'm trying to lighten my load for the jam. Currently using a Hartke HD15, which is plenty loud enough, but carrying it along with my...

Yeah, I'm gonna take to the shop. I'll look into the Aquila strings. Appreciate your reply!

I have one of these and have run into a couple of issues. First, I'm not a fan of the roundwound strings that come with it. Trying to find suitable other strings has been disappointing. Second issue, after reinstalling the original factory strings, the volume of the G string when plugged in, is...

    Fender Uke bass strings?

Thanks! I just really like the sound and feel of flatwounds. I'm also hoping the slightly heavier gauge will provide a little more tension, since I've noticed some fret buzz on the G string lower frets. Thanks again!

    Fender Uke bass strings?

Thanks for the reply! I don't think I want to use the poly strings and really don't want to make any modifications to the nut, since this is mainly a practice, noodling around instrument for me. I see Galli makes flatwound uke bass strings, but they look to be a higher gauge, and I'm afraid they...

    Fender Uke bass strings?

I recently bought a Fender Fullerton Ukulele bass, and while I love playing it, I hate the nickel wrapped nylon strings that came with it. Too much string noise when fretting and sliding. Have tried Fast fret with limited results. I see Kala offers flatwound Ubass strings but the disclaimer says...
