Thanks for your responses... The problem with the hardware store washers (at least the ones I've found) is that the hole in the center is too big. The Fender washers have a hole that's just large enough to fit the screw through it: I tried using a hardware store washer of the same...

PS: I tried replacing the washer with a “kind-of-fits” one I had lying around, but it's too thin and makes the tuner harder to tune, so I would really like to find one with the exactly correct size.

I lost the washer from one of my Fender tuning heads. The screw literally fell out, and when I finally noticed, I was able to find the screw, but not the washer. The tuning head is original to my 1970 Jazz Bass. Here is the part in question: I don't want to start buying washers willy-nilly...

Can you name any songs that absolutely REQUIRE a pick to get the right sound? Can be fast or slow, I'm more concerned about the sound. I'm trying to brush up on my picking skills, and I'd like some good pick-bass examples to practice along with. Got any recommendations, TalkBass folks?
