Update: Just got The amp back from GK in Cali. They replaced a bunch of the pots. Apparently that’s where the problem was, not a tube issue. I did notice they were a bit wobbly. The new ones are much tighter/smoother. On a side note I picked up a Trace Elliot Elf while the GK was in the shop...

Went through the store I got it at. Rondinelli Music has always been awesome with my “Island of Misfit Toys” Bass amps...

I will update when I hear back from gk, I went ahead and sent it back rather than call because I’m sure their response would be, “Why don’t you try putting new tubes in it?” There must be an underlying cause for it’s tube appetite.

I’m sending it back to gk. It’s something besides the tubes acting up.

Thanks for the advice, I’ll give all these suggestions a try before practice tonight! I don’t have any ACF-50, I do have electronic contact cleaner though.

I must be snakebit, the M9 Mesa I had prior had to be sent back to Cali twice...

I’ll look into those. Definitely will not get JJ’s. Retuned my old SVT with those and didn’t get two months out of them!

12ax7’s They started doing the same thing at a gig last weekend that they did last year just before they died the first time.

How long has everybody getting out of your pre-amp tubes in these amps? The ones that came in it didn’t last a year. The replacements (Electro-Harmonix) are also on the way out before the year is up.
