Please disregard. Someone mentioned i may be reading the Tuner wrong. Yes i tuned the "A" and "D" String to sharp and it was throwing off the 1st postion for me. Thank you all for the help.

Hello all, i am brand new to the Bass, so please forgive me. I just got my first bass and am confused. I am trying to mark my Bass with Tape for the positions on the Finger board. First i tuned each string open using a Chromatic tuner. (easy enough) i then found the "A" Finger position (fret)...

I will re post in the right section, Thank you all for the responses, and sorry for the confusion. FYI i tuned all the strings "open" with the Chromatic tuner, but when i fret "A" note on the "G" string then move to the "D" string and fret the same position i would expect to get an "E" note...
