Wanted to update everyone. Turns out the issue was the balance control was shorting out as it was touching the cavity wall. This was causing the very very low output. As soon as I listened up that pot and shifted its position so the back was facing away from the cavity wall. Everything worked...

The pickups came in the bass. It's a new Spector NS Pulse 5 string. Plus when I pulled them I checked the back to be 100% sure. 40DC's

The pickups are wired the same as the EMG diagram shows. I've checked and rechecked all connections. I've had it apart many times in they last 24 hours.

I tried moving the pickups within a few mm of the strings. Ridiculously close. I ended up moving them back to the stock position where they were when I bought the bass. Since these pickups were already installed and at the height I'm showing in the picture, I'm assuming that they should still...
