Lower tension strings might help as well.

    GK Neo IV cabs

I've lost that lovin' feeling for square (2x2) 4x10's in general (prefer staggered driver baffle designs). The GK 2x12 is quite capable and 20 lbs. lighter than the 4x10 cab, so I'd recommend the GK 2x12 Neo IV.

    Yorkville/Traynor Club?! Part 2

Traynor's website says that the BM15C is 44.5 lbs. 38 lbs. would be better, but did you weigh the amp?

I would think that if you lined the bottom (bridge-side) of the pickups with the originals, they'd be (or almost be) jammed together like the MTD Super's pickups. [I don't know how big the gap between the regular soapbar pickups or how much bigger the Super J pickups are.]

Yeah, that's the one that jumped out at me! Back to Sads, I wonder if you can spec out a Modern 5 with a pair of Super J pickups? I bet that would rip through any mix!

The Peavey Cirrus 5's have unique pickups that really cut through in a busy mix!

    Club Sadowsky!!!

OK, I have not heard the Piccolo, only the original UL901. If the Piccolo is more transparent than the Kinetix then that's quite a feat. I have a pair of Sennheiser HD 599 SE headphones, not the greatest, but not bad either. The MTD particularly didn't seem to come across very well (a few...

It's not just Mesa cabs - non-Neutrik SpeakOns have been causing problems for years with any SpeakOn connectored cabs. I know the new issues are somewhat different, but yeah, just wanted to clarify.

    Club Sadowsky!!!

I know this is a Sad thread, but I liked the Fodera Deluxe :: Ash / Maple / Ebony tone - beef with articulation. I wish they had recorded it with the Genzler Kinetix 800 and a couple of Bass Array cabs. I think they were using the Epifani Head and cabs which I never quite gelled with - like...

    Club Sandberg (part 2)

I wonder if it's possible to put a rubber or plastic washer into the knob assembly that would give it just a bit more resistance to turning.
