Mesa Walkabout - 3rd repair or throw in the towel?

Every time I was ready to give up on it they'd ask me to bring it back. 4th times the charm. Ultimately, despite never observing the failure, they replaced all the MOSFETs on the 4th repair (after replacing the "mismatched MOSFETs" on the first repair). Happy to report that "this thing really...

Is this legit? the website looks so scam-y I'm hesitant to put in my CC. Also, why so cheap?

Mesa Walkabout - 3rd repair or throw in the towel?

I seem to have isolated the issue to the power amp shutting off and on. Cant seem to figure it out thou. and it works perfectly fine on the test bench at boogie? I'm just going to put it in storage, and use an old backup rig. Thanks for the support TBers

Mesa Walkabout - 3rd repair or throw in the towel?

yeah, was pretty dumb of me to think I could use an amp that's been repaired at the factory twice and had exactly one failure that was fixed by switching it off and on in the probably 100+times I had tried to turn it on since getting it back from the factory. I think I've learned my lesson though.

Mesa Walkabout - 3rd repair or throw in the towel?

Just wanted to update everyone on the current situation. Since getting it back the 2nd time it started turning off and on by itself once at home, then worked fine for two rehearsals and a small gig, then proceeded to fail on me during soundcheck of a very important gig. Ended up being a...

Mesa Walkabout - 3rd repair or throw in the towel?

I seem to be the only one in the world this is happening to. so bizarre. Rich said they'd look at it a 3rd time, so I guess ill have to update you on if its fixable or not.

Mesa Walkabout - 3rd repair or throw in the towel?

I bought mine, brand new, in 2014. says it was made in 2012. so its had about 10 solid years of use. yeah, i guess you're right, nothing lasts forever, 10 years was a good run.

Mesa Boogie Walkabout Mega-thread Part 10

Thanks for the welcome! and sorry for the multiple posts. I bought my walkabout new in 2014, so it has lasted me almost 10 good years. I've lurked on here quite a bit so its fun (and nerve wracking) to put myself out here finally!

Mesa Boogie Walkabout Mega-thread Part 10

Ive suspected it has something to do with a relay opening and closing intermittently like you've described. I'm having the hardest time figuring out if another "repair attempt" is worth it. seems like most people I've talked to opt to replace instead of repair. thanks for the input, seems like...
