I think Stingrays sound great into a tube amp. Interestingly enough, I think my Stingrays have a fairly low output compared to some other active basses.

Brand new when they came out Rick Chris Squire Signature at a local music store for $1599. Ughh. Still kickin myself over that one. Brand new when they first came out Fender MIJ Geddy Lee Jazz for $549 at a local Guitar Center. Again, Ughh!

Stick a 200 watt class D amp in the SCR DI. Put a tube in the PF800 preamp section.

As others have said, sounds like you want to run a direct dry signal and then just EQ out what you don't want in that signal. That approach is used a lot in recording.

Just to add, I would guess that a 410HLF goes lower than a PF115 so if you're looking for more low end, the 115 will not add much.

As Engle said, any good quality balanced XLR M-F cable.

When you record, make sure to try out the Transformer Out DI. I've gotten great results using that DI.

Now if Ampeg could just sneak a 200 watt power module into the SCR DI... They've done a nice job with the line of pedals, IMO.

Given that you're getting the combo for cheap, it may also be cheap enough to fix the amp and still come out ahead on the deal. I'd check into that. Would give you a nice combo for practice and small gigs, and your 1001RB/410 for larger gigs.
