Dude! If I hadn't just.... ;) Is that a Fishman Fluence set up? My Euro4 Sarzo has that.

Thank you sir! I don't think it'll sound much different than the other CST5s other than the p-pup, though I've no experience with them. As for the LXs, the new ones also have the legacy preamp (per website) but use the EMG 40DC humbuckers and they'll have a different tone for sure. I run through...

Sorry I'm late posting my latest addition to the family. Jason at Fret Nation let me know he got in a special five string Euro CST with a beautiful spalted top, and I just had to pull the trigger on it. It's a limited edition, less than 10 fivers I believe. All the specs are on the website. I'm...

Just my two cents... I was/am a Spector neck-thru guy, Especially when it comes to Euros and USAs. But I tried out (for a couple of weeks) a Pulse 1 and I liked the feel of the neck. Much better than the bolt-on Euros and USAs. Maybe it's just me. ;)

Yup, to be able to run through two octaves without changing the position of my hand is a great feature of five strings. However, I played only four strings from 1971 to 1994 so I have a well established technique when playing them. If I could only have one bass it would be a five string, I just...

Nice! I played a fiver for 18 years and on a lark I bought an old CRFM four string and loved playing it. I now always bring a Dingwall fiver and a Spector four banger (see avatar) to play. I mostly play the Dingwall only when I need a five string. I play the four string the rest of the time...

Sweet! What is that color called? I like the Wimbish necks and a J/J pickup config too.

I've become quite fond of my new Sarzo Euro. Although I've had trouble finding out the center frequencies for B/T on the Fishman Fluence preamp. Does anyone know those center frequencies? I've looked at the Spector and Fishman websites with no luck. Thanks!

I did talk to Rex a couple of times but I just couldn't come up with the $ for any of the basses I liked. Really nice guy though and who knew he had a home here in old town. LOL

I play both finger style and with a pick depending on the song. I too am an aggressive player. Have you tried putting more relief on the neck? I'm told if you're aggressive you might need to do that. Going with tapered strings and especially with the contact core, a bridge adjustment will be needed.

Those are some sweet basses! I have the EMG/HAZ sound in my other Euro4. My Euro5 RST has the Aggie set up so I thought this would bring another flavor of Spector into the fold. The one I'm getting has one 3way switch. I believe it's a Passive/Voice 1/Voice 2 config. I use a Genzler overdrive...

Thanks Rod. That is a sweet bass you have there. I figure I have the EMG/HAZ sound with my White Wimbish. I've been using the Genzler 4 on the Floor pedal so grit and grind are covered. LOL
