Jonathan Letts
I’ve been playing upright and electric bass for about 20 years. I grew up in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, playing in groups from jazz to country to rock, and the local symphony. I lived in Portland, OR for about 3 years playing with drummers Dick Berk, Ron Steen, hip hop group Two Planets, and many others. I also studied with bassist David Friesen while in Portland. I moved to Detroit, MI in 2017 and have played with trumpeter John Douglas, Laura Rain and the Caesars and many others. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Jazz and Contemporary Improvisation from the University of Michigan.
