The scallops are there to make any bends on the higher register easier to control, sometimes I'll experiment with some wild bass sounds on the axefx patches for some interesting effects. Also they add to the futuristic look of the instrument as well, thank for the kind words guys

Got this one last week!! Such a fantastic bass, Jay was great to deal with throughout the process. Loving the soundhole, this is the first bass that i've played unplugged and the sound is still bearable haha a very futuristic looking instrument!! Details of the run with dealer pics are here...
