    bassists who aren't

    I was a jazz/rock guitar player about a little less than a year ago when a local hardcore band asked me to play bass for them. Since it's a lot of traveling I accepted and now I love playing bass. I have not picked up my guitars in so long. The strings are rusting.

    What is the longest you've searched for a rare bass before finding one?

    6 Months It took me 6 months to find and buy a Pre-Kramer Spector NS-2 in a white laquer finish. (Found it here on TB!) Now it only took me 12 days to find and buy a near showroom condition Gibson Ripper.

    Started on an unknown double bass when I was 10 My first electric bass was a EBMM StingRay4 HS which I bought in July of this year and in about a week I will get a Vintage Spector NS-2.

    Re Tolex

    Just bought an 80's used Ampeg 8x10 cab. Sounds perfect but it just looks ugly from tolex peeling off a bit. I was wondering how much it would cost to re-tolex it and where.
