is something broken with the pagination in the classifieds?

I'm seeing some of the same basses listed on multiple pages.

and I'm not saying the markbass sounds bad. I like the way it sounds a lot but for my taste, it's not as adjustable as the aguilar. If it had a series effect loop, I'd probably have kept it. Wish they would address that...

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

Don't agree at all. The treble control on the aguilar hits right at the perfect spot for attenuating *AND* boosting what is typically perceived as treble frequencies . You can accomplish some aspects of cut with the VLE filter but you can't reproduce *ANY* of the boost. The markbass 10k treble...

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

after re-reading the manual and looking at some graphs, you're right. Not sure why they can't just state this clearly in the manual but now I see that the way it works is that at zero, it's out of the circuit. As you rotate it clockwise it begins attenuating at 20khz and as you continue rotating...

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

If the markbass had a series effect loop, i'd probably just get the TH pedal and a markbass head, lol... Unfortunately, the parallel loop (with no mix control) doesn't work for use with modelers, preamp pedals, etc... I wish they would make a 2nd amp line. The LMB series, as-is, and another...

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

It's not a strictly high pass filter. As you rotate it clockwise, it attenuates a wider and wider swath of frequencies. You're probably right that it doesn't attenuate lows but it's also not a high pass filter. The reason variable is in the name is because as you rotate it, the shelf frequency...

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

Thanks again. Sounds like a winner. The pop i get is obnoxious but seems to only happen once. Once the fan comes on for the first time, I don't remember ever hearing the pop again. The pop does come through the direct out so if you're recording it could be an issue but as long as you turn the...

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

my th500 failed a couple years. korg sent me a list of 5 repair shops in the area. Not a single one would even take the amp, citing poor support from korg in terms of replacement parts. Korg would not sell me the parts directly. There seem to be a fair amount of issues stemming from overheating.

has anyone actually replaced the fan in their AG amp to solve the noisyness and reliability

i had one, didn't care for it. I considered getting the tonehammer preamp pedal but really, the amp should work the way I want it without requiring a pedal to make it work for me. Except for the fan and reliability issues, I do like the sound of the tonehammer...

It cuts lows too so it doesn't quite work as well as a 4k treble

I've tried a lot of different amps. I love the tone control frequency centers on aguilar. Absolutely perfect for jazz, fusion and even for jazz guitar. The amp sounds great with my modeler too even through the preamp. I hate the treble control placement (10k) on the markbass and feel like those...
