Play Classic Rock, Blues, I don't know, whatever I can get into or play anyway. Listen to just about anything. Vivaldi to Van Halen. My Dad was a jazz guitarists influenced by the styles of Wes Montgomery, but, he listened to and played again, just about anything, so there was always something playing at our house. Jazz, classical, blues, .....
Gigs and Ensembles
I play in two bands where we touch on tunes from just about all Genres between the two. One has us out 2-3 times a month, the other, once every so often, but we jam together a lot. It's more a hobby now, so we just go out and play for the fun of it. No egos, No super stars. We do bars, benefits to backyards, outdoor concerts to private parties, country clubs and even on the Battleship NJ. Our following is of the 30 on up group but we also play current stuff for the younger crowd. We're in our 50-60's, interact with the crowd and it makes them comfortable enough to just let it all go. We even encourage people to come up with us. It works for me.
Previously Owned Gear
The Gibson was my first bass and I still use it. I had a 73 Fender Telecaster at one time. First amp was a Kustom 100 with a 15"and an Acoustic 450 head and 4x15 cab.
Influences and Teachers
Im self taught, but mostly influenced by my Dad. I started with drums, then guitar, then bass. Most of my family are musicians. Dad guitar, Uncle played drums, brother plays drums, another Uncle played bass, other brother plays guitar, son plays guitar.
My brother use to play his drum to music with headphones on in one room and id be in another room, not knowing what song he was playing, playing bass to just his drumming. I believe that was my biggest part of my learning the bass.
Hobbies and Interests
I love anything with a engine in it, especially cars. I've had show cars that I've taken to local and national events and have done well with them. Photography is big as well as travel. I've always said Fast cars, guitars, and open bars are my hobbies.
