Hello guys!
Thank you very much for the hint.
My 2007 MIM J Bass was distorting eventually too.
Pulled out the control plate and with my own nail cleaned the jack conector, in which was oscillating the ohm value.
Now the sound is fine!
I realized that all MIM J Basses, even 2010> come with 5.5K pickups.
Mine (a 2007 modelo) is no different. Low volume output compared to standard 7.XK.... Like I asked in other thread, is there a reason why Fender produces 5/6/7K pickups for the same bass? Anything to do with the resulting sound?
Hello all!
I thought my MIM pickups (Jazz Bass) were malfunctioning when I measured them and 5.2k/5.5k came out (neck/bridge).
Those pickups are the ones with higher poles on A and D strings.
I have other Jazz Basses (not Fender but 7.2k/7.6k) and they really sound louder than the MIM.
Is...
Hello all!
Here goes a similar question.
Just bought a MIM Jazz Bass 2007 witch unfortunately came with pickup output issues: both bridge and neck resulting 5 OHM resistance values on multimeter, low output volume and sometimes the sound just faded out while playing...
I've extracted both...
Well, I personally clean the strings and pickups after the use.
GHS Fast Fret is a nice cleaner (and smells nice too). It lubrifies the strings and recovers the sharpness.
