I use the Presto Ultra light nylonwound on my (cheap) double bass. Same as Eurosonic I believe. They are quite thick (fatter than most all metal strings so fat in fact, that I had to file out the nut slots to accomodate them, and these are only the Ultra Lights) but they have very low tension...
