New bass player needs amp for punk and rock! Advice appreciated!

I hope to play more than one genre, but I want to play punk because it´s fun. =) I ended up picking up the PF20t I talked about earlier, and I can´t wait to get to know it a little better. Only tested it through my studio monitors so far, just going from the balanced line out, but I like the...

New bass player needs amp for punk and rock! Advice appreciated!

That´s a good idea man! My current amp is a Fender Princeton ´68 reissue. It actually sounds pretty good with a bass at (extremely) low volumes, and would probably be much better through a bass cab. Part of me really wants to try out the Ampeg Pf20t, as I can get a deal on a brand new one for...

New bass player needs amp for punk and rock! Advice appreciated!

Thanks again for the overwhelming amount of input guys! I think I might have decided what to do, and of course it´s the exact opposite of what I was initially hoping to.. Thanks for all the feedback guys! Really appreciate you taking the time to post! So far I´ve added these brands to my list of amps to research/try out; Quilter, G-K, Ashdown and Peavey. I´m liking what I hear from the G-K demos I´ve checked out so far, they seem to sound great for the stuff I...

You tell me, I´ve never played a show as a bass player and have no idea what I´m supposed to do. Hahaha. As a guitarist I played shows with amps ranging from small solid state Peavey combos to Dual Rectifier stacks, and I´m guessing I was probably too loud every single time no matter the...

New bass player needs amp for punk and rock! Advice appreciated!

Thanks for the reply! =) I checked out some youtube demos now, and in those it reminded me a lot of the basic sound character of the Rumble 500 combo I played. Probably a really cool amp if you need all the different tones and functions. I think I´m looking for something simpler though.

New bass player needs amp for punk and rock! Advice appreciated!

Hey guys and gals! I´ve recently gotten bored enough with electronic music production (after 20+ years) to decide to sell off most of my studio and learn to play bass instead. My intention is to start playing in a band as soon as I get a bare minimum of skills and find some musically...
