    It was a DIY kit built by someone who has made pedals, but by no means is a pro. And the tweeter is most definitely connected, just all the way down.

    Update: the head is in perfect condition. So I guess I'm going to chalk this up to a few speakers that were on their way out anyway and me cranking everything as the mail in the coffin.

    That would explain why the speaker had a rattle to it in practice. They are the original speakers from the 80same and the guy who owned it before me was your typical cover band dad. I'm sure I'm pushing it much more than he ever did.

    I'm more so interested in preventing this from happening again or learning from what I did wrong rather than the actual patching of the speakers. Speakers are speakers, I know I'll have to replace them now or eventually. :)

    One was burnt through (pictured above), the other has a hairline crack with a small hole, and the remaining two are totally undamaged.

    So I recently added a second cabinet to my rig and played it out for the first time the other night. I use a Sunn Concert Head (100w, 4ohms), an SWR Goliath 410 (8ohms, with the tweeter off) and a GK 212 (8ohms, so the power is cut to 4 all around). Everything was hooked up properly the same...
