    It's a 62 RI guard. The standard CV one is really just a printed graphic and is the only visual short coming. I got the covers as a cheap set(SX take off?) on eBay. I also polished the neck and headstock to a satin finish. I think the neck looks and plays better but thats my opinion. Your VM...

    Love my CV. Outstanding bass. Feels better and plays better than many MIM I've played. Bought it used on eBay and even with upgrades I still have spent less than buying a new one.
