    This is my 1980 model that I bought new for $1000. I love this bass. I agree that there should be a club for players with the older models. There is something special about them. I am always complimented on how this baby sounds and it plays like a dream.

    Bought this baby new in 1980. Paid $1000. Certainly the best bass I've ever owned. The action on this thing is unequalled and the flat wound strings create death tones. Got out of the music business in 1984 and went straight...but not before playing with Stewart Copeland in the U.K. band...
