Mine was 5.2 kilogrammes, but i don't like anymore maple fingerboard sound, even its beautiful and groovy / funky sound, i look for rosewood now.

i don't have the Fender MP Black/Maple V. iv sell it, weight of the bass was a problem, and i prefer finaly basses with rosewood fingerboard.

I play a lot, on single position of switch, its equilibrate, and not too much agressive in slap. Me im really impress since iv put brass nut, a very sensible difference, more power, punch and reactivity. it feel like the bass is less smother.

Thanks Dr.Cheese ! in real the sound is really more bright and clear, the sound is not clear cause bad recording from mic of computer.

Hello all, First test with Brass Nut, not revolutionnary changement in sound, but more sustain, harmonic, and little bit more of punch, it sound little more "iron" than "plastic", it remove to the bass little from typical Fender Jb texture, and give something little more modern , like others...

All my upgrade ideas done ! short tuning manchine, hipshot string retainer, ABM Webster 6250B. Now i touch nothing else !

latest impression, heavy weight bass, factory strings lost good sound faster, and finaly i begin to don't like this hi-mass bridge, cause strings have a bad flexibility inside, i feel some punchy sound of strings is lost cause of it. But in few days i will change the nut , by a brass nut...

In few days i will upgrade my MP V black with a brass nut "ABM WEBSTER 6250B" 50mm but i will polish around 1mm at left and right of the nut (original is 47.6mm), then it will be perfect cause the abm nut have 10mm between slots like the original, i think it will not be too long to install it ...

yes set up keys, for trussrod (for turn correctly the roll) and bridge.. hide inside the last box of the bass, hide under scotch.. i was curious to find it, so iv find, but im sure many people trow that accidently cause we really don't see it good..

for ones who have receive a MP V, i hope you dont trow setup keys, hide in the package box :-) ? Me too i continue to little setup my MP V , also the sound is little bit different, if you put little down neck pickup, 1/4 turn of screws, and to be almost near 1mm under 12th fret at the neck...

at the begin, B string sound correct not monumental, and good only after few days, when the string is new it sound very metallic, but with a good setup of the neck (1mm under 12th fret), good tuning, good height and harmonic at bridge, it become very correct.
