I made this one from willow. It is lightweight but purdy strong….. No metal fasteners were harmed in its construction.

We get charged extra when we put big stuff like washers, dryers, fridges in the garbage……so I bust them up . I strip all the usable stuff like wiring, nuts and bolts, screws, hinges, handles and tempered glass. Then I bust and hacksaw the rest up into pieces small enough to fit in my garbage...

Good question! I extended the straw’s end well into the area where I’m going to chisel out the pocket for the pickup. The chisel will remove the end that is plugged with glue. I drilled a 3/4 inch hole through the top where the tailpiece ground wire will stick up. There I can swab out the glue...

I hacked out two channels in my guitar body. I’ll insert plastic straws before gluing the top on. The straws will prevent glue from squeezing into the wire channels.

Sorry, no more photos. I just started with rough planks of white ash. I thickness planed them and sawed 1.25 inch pieces off. Then I glued them together. I sawed the armrest off and drilled holes. I cut the pot cavity with a jig saw. I routed channels for the pickup and tailpiece ground wires...

If it’s real lacquer, isopropyl alcohol might dissolve it. Lacquer thinner would work real well too. That would save you a lot of scraping work.

I used ball point pen barrels and scrap wood to make bobbins. I stuffed them with quarter inch neodymium magnets and steel slugs. I converted a 1925 manual grindstone into a winder. One turn of the crank produces nine turns on the bobbin.
