The Yamaha BB605 will stack up even or better against any $1000 bass on the market and many that cost much more. Just saying.

I bought the Growler initially as a lightweight platform. I have a Lakland 5502 preamp and pups that I had planned on dropping in but I'm a little hesitant after playing it. It has the clarity and punch of my MTD 535 but not quite the booty. I may just wait a while until I'm sure.

Get the Gotoh Res-O-Lite tuners looks the same. $129

Just replace the tuners with Gotoh GB350 Res-O-Lites. They are about half the weight and looks the same. Leveled it out pretty good for me.

I replaced my Growler tuners with Gotoh GB350 Res-O-Lites. That balanced mine out real nice. They look exactly the same as the originals. Gibson should put those on at the factory for only about $40 more.
