Hey, not at all, thanks for the response. I'm in Europe, so phoning them has been somewhat out of the equation, but I tried e-mailing them again and yesterday they have responded briefly and friendly (no solution yet).
Its almost all the way down, maybe 1 or 2 millimeters that could be gained there. But it may be worth trying.
Thanks for the info. I was not aware it should clear by that much. I do look for the thump these particular strings produce.

It currently looks like this (see attached pic - yup it looks a bit like a mess). I do consider the string to sit inside the groove, however the position of the taperwound part is very unfortunate.
Thanks for the suggestion! I may add that on both last tries witness points were set and intonation was off. The one time i didn't set them the B intonated properly. Witness points may provide comfort in other situations, but are not the problem here.
