Yeah that's definitely my expectation as well. It wouldn't make sense to use a prime piece of timber if it was completely hidden by the finish. Might be worth a look if I ever want it re-finished.

Love the pearl white re-finish. I have wondered how the "Emerald Green Metallic Matte" on my EHB1005SMS would come out if it was stripped back to a natural wood grain. It is probably a dumb idea but I really liked the natural wood finish of the EHB1265MS (and natural finishes in general).

I think it's not as bad as I first thought. If I dial in a lot of high mids and treble via the EQ it accentuates the feedback. I haven't tried replicating that on the DI itself (via software EQ) before it goes in to Darkglass but hopefully that's a little less noisy. I will probably look at...
