You can almost see the texture problem in the image you posted. Not referring to the gaps so much as the grinding texture on the flat parts of half rounds.

Thanks for the confirmation. I say the stickiness is metalic texture and not resin-related. Can't prove it without a microscope.

Just figured this out yesterday and threads I read here did not mention the cure, other than time and wear. The stickiness of D’Addario half rounds is due to the sharp edges of the winding (or maybe the grinding process if that is how they make the “half round” out of round wound). The cure is...
