Ric in a P Bass body?

Actually, that's a Classic Amplification "Late 70's style Classic Button Top Neck pickup". The original Rick pickup from the 70's had failed (probably a break) and I'll probably have them rewind it for sale or use elsewhere.

Juvenile Mistakes - how to repair?

[Zombie Thread Revival] Didn't rush, and I wasn't stupid enough (this time) to do the work myself. I'm happy with the result in terms of playability, and versatility of tone. Neck had previously been refretted by luthier John Carruthers. Body had previously been refinished by Charvel. Needs...

    Help Identifying 1972 P-Bass

Looks legit to me. Mine, according to s/n# 39xxxx was 1973. Haven't checked the neck stamp, but you're in the ballpark. I think the body was refinished - mine was originally Olympic White w/the maple neck (also paired with the torti pickguard), and the pictures you posted are too bright a white.

Im at a bass swap meet

It looks like 6-8 tables w/generally well-used basses, guitars, pedals, cabinets & a Grilled Cheese foodtruck. Perhaps it will grow. Buy/Sell/Vendor space is free.

So, I'll checkout the electronics (although I have options of changing the way it's wired), de-solder and clean-up the wiring harness, pots, etc., work up a neat pickguard (that...

Juvenile Mistakes - how to repair?

Once upon a time - OK, almost 40 years ago, I made a dreadful mistake. I had a white, 1972 Fender Precision Bass, Maple fingerboard, purchased new at the dealer. Serial #392xxx. I screwed with it, as any stupid youngster might. Using my poor woodworking skills, I routed out the body...
